My story
I don't just dream it. I build it.
Born in Boston, raised in Seattle, building in Virginia. Founder of the PCOS Awareness Association. Builder of places people gather. This is how it started, and why I keep going.

01
The diagnosis.
From age 9 to 16, I lived with symptoms no one could explain. At 16, I finally had answers: polycystic ovary syndrome, and cervical cancer, a fight I would face three times.
In 2005, at 21, my cysts ruptured and I ended up in the ER. The doctors told me there was nothing they could do for me, because I have PCOS.
That sentence made me angry. Then it started my journey. It took years to understand what I needed for my own PCOS, and another 16 months for the IRS to approve our 501(c)(3). In 2012, the PCOS Awareness Association became official, so no one else would hear "there's nothing we can do" and stop there.
There were other hard seasons too, including a relationship I had to find my way out of. Every one of them left me more certain of two things: I can get through it, and I can help someone else get through it too.

02
Building in Seattle.
I earned my bachelor's degree in Business Administration, with a focus in Project Management, from City University of Seattle, and started out in office and sales administration. Meanwhile, I grew PCOSAA one conversation at a time: vendor booths at health fairs, then Reveal the Teal, the community event we hosted every year from 2014 to 2019.
In 2015, we hosted one of the first medical conferences dedicated to PCOS. Seeing that room full sparked a bigger passion: to reach even more people. In 2016, I was named Seattle's Be Bold Be You Woman of the Year for my community engagement and PCOS advocacy, and I wrote the foreword for the Amazon bestseller PCOS Diet for the Newly Diagnosed.
03
Virginia, and the why.
In 2017, I moved to Virginia to build PCOSAA bigger.
In 2018, we were invited to host a PCOSAA booth at Essence Festival in New Orleans. My volunteers backed out, and shipping our teal booth there and back cost thousands. All weekend I told myself it would be my last PCOSAA event.
Then a woman ran up to the table. "Is this PCOSAA? Are you Megan Stewart?" She said she'd be right back, and returned with her mom, her aunts, her cousin and her grandmother. They told me PCOSAA had helped her through her PCOS, and asked if they could hold my hands and pray for me.
That moment still makes me cry. I've had others like it at Reveal the Teal and PCOS CON, and they always seem to come when I'm ready to stop.

Each time I'm ready to quit, I'm shown that what I built is helping.
04
Born to build.
Both sides of my family were business owners. My father ran an interior and exterior painting business, and I tagged along to his jobs and his classes. Watching him help people taught me what owning a business really means. I always knew I'd build something of my own.
My mother tells everyone I've always tried to help people. She says I get it from my dad. And when someone tells me I can't do something, I do it anyway, and better than I hoped.
Before REIGN, I built Joyous Moments Photobooth, an open-air photo booth for events in California and Virginia, and Queen Divine, an organic hair care line for women of color built by our mother-daughter-cousin team. In 2023, I opened REIGN The Venue to help care for my family. REIGN led to The Court, Blackstone Coffees, BLKThrottleCo and Serenity Salon Suites & Podcast Studio. In December 2024, PCOSAA was invited to the White House Conference on Women's Health Research.
Alongside all of it, I've built a full career in corporate operations: Executive Administrator at The Boeing Company (2007–2017), Executive Administrator at Capital One (2017–2025), and today, Project Manager at HelpMeSee.
Through every role, venture and volunteer hour, the goal hasn't changed: add value wherever I am, and use my story to inspire women from all walks of life.
